Our mix (blend) of green activities started in 2007 with the fencing of 5 acres of a flat area called Man O’ War on the little island of Saint Eustatius (Statia), the Dutch Caribbean. This was followed by the opportunity to drill a well in 2008 when the electricity company GEBE hired a company from French Saint Martin to drill their wells for a desalination plant.
The same year our friend and shareholder Huub Winters collected and paid for materials to start our farm. Machinery and a shade house where bought and in 2009 we started with our first crops. And of course this did not go easy. In 2010 we started with our landscaping projects, and in 2011 we had our first employee. Since 2012 we extended our products with flowers, garden plants, trees and palm trees.
It is our goal to expand our market to the surrounding islands. Greenblend must be an example for the region by showing that all of her activities can be done in a sustainable way.
We want to: grow organically, re-use waste materials, educate and participate in agro-tourism.
